Jan/ Feb 2010

Hi everyone!

We just wanted to give you guys a quick update of our time in the States and also let you get a glimpse of the up coming bible college semester.

Times past:
Shaun and I were so blessed to see many of you during our visit to California and Colorado! Our time definitely was packed full! Some highlights in California were: a wedding in San Luis Obispo, Christmas with Shaun’s family, spending our two-year anniversary in Laguna Beach, Missions Conference at the Bible College in Murrieta, and getting to see and spend time with lots of family & friends in between! Also, during that time we experienced the loss of Shaun’s opa (grandpa), Henry Havelaar. We were so glad to be there to say goodbye and to be with the family. There’s a great appreciation for both the quality and quantity of time that the family had with him—86 years. Please pray for the Havelaar family, specifically Shaun’s oma (grandma), Paula, as they were married 61 years.

Colorado was a blessed time too! We had the opportunity to see lots of friends of family… and I just really enjoyed being “home” again.

Spring semester:

So far, this semester has gotten off to an “interesting” start. Right when we got back we had some conferences, while also preparing for the semester. Shaun is now the bible college registrar. He had to get ready for student arrivals (which everyone got here safe and sound, despite some weather related delays among other things), registration, orientation, making sure the students are getting all the classes they need to graduate, etc. He is also teaching the book of Exodus this semester, and helping with the guy interns.

I got right back in the swing of things with working in the coffee shop, as well as training my new coffee shop crew for the semester. Also, I’m working towards finishing the bachelor’s degree program. I’m taking a couple classes, as well as being involved with the girl interns again. Discipleship. I love that throughout life; there is meant to be a constant pouring into (receiving from the Lord) and a constant pouring out (Him into the lives of others). I desire to have that healthy flow of God working in me and through me. I’m so excited to see what God is going to do this semester in Shaun and I, as well as the staff, interns, and students!

Other prayer requests:

- Pray for Paul Lange. He serves as the director of the school. He recently had a lung that has collapsed twice on the eve of the semester. Pray for complete healing, rest, and comfort for his family.

- Pray for our home fellowship, Sarbogard bible study, discipleship opportunities. Shaun and I want to see God touch the lives of others. Pray that people would know Jesus more.

- Pray for hunger (not physically). A hunger for more of what God has, and a contentment for the things He’s already given to us.

- Pray for our marriage. That God would continue to build us into something that has His “fingerprints” on it. Also, that we would walk in, and exercise—love and grace towards each other.

All our love & many thanks,
Shaun and Megan
