Well it's been a few weeks since our last update and we wanted to fill you in on what's been going on this semester. Thank you all for the congrats on the baby, and for your continued love and prayers for us! It means so much to us.
Fall Semester:
This semester we have 16 countries represented in the student body. Those countries include: Pakistan, India, Ukraine, Hungary, Russia, USA, Cuba, S. Korea, Croatia, Australia, Finland, Kenya, Austria, South Africa, Serbia, and Slovenia. It has been such a blessing to get to know these students.
God is doing a lot in their lives, and we know His heart for us is to walk in the freedom He's given us. We believe He is wanting to reveal HIS freedom to His people. It's not limited to geography, but His desire for His people. We all have fears, insecurities, doubts, past hurts and shame... but God wants us to continue to let go of those things--the burdens that remain--and grab a hold of His grace. There is a freedom in Jesus that can't be found anywhere else. By knowing Jesus we can be set free. A verse that has been on my heart this semester is John 8v31-32, 'Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."' The truth is that God loves us, so much that He sent His Son to die on the cross for our sin so that we would have life in Him!
God is continually growing us and it's been such a blessing to be a part of what He's doing in the lives of these students.
Us:
Shaun continues to stay busy with teaching Acts this semester and being the Bible College Registrar. I am also still overseeing the Coffee Shop and I have a great team working in there, and I also am involved with the women's internship program. Other than those things Shaun and I have been loving having people over at house throughout the week, we also still lead a Monday night home fellowship, and meet with students one on one. Shaun also loves playing basketball and football with the staff and students. Oh yes, and we continue to care for our friends' dog, Lola.
I've been feeling good throughout my pregnancy! I always look forward to our doctor appointments when we get to see the little guy through the ultrasound. He's quite a mover! Last couple of ultrasounds--1) clapping, and 2) feet up/showing us his booty. :)
Please continue to pray for a healthy pregnancy and baby!
Some have asked if there are things we need for the baby from the States. We've been blessed to have many families who have offered some of their things. Also, we are able to get a lot of things here. However, for those interested, we are setting up a baby registry at Amazon.com. When we are done, I will send out the link.
We also won't be going on the 10-day outreach this semester but you can pray for those students, staff, and interns who are. This semester there will be a handful of trips throughout Hungary serving at the other Calvary Chapels. There will be trips throughout Hungary, Ukraine, Croatia, and Serbia. They will be leaving this Friday, October 22nd and returning on the 31st.
Prayer Requests:
- That the students will continue to grow closer to Jesus this semester
- God's freedom would continue to reign in our lives
- Baby Havelaar to be healthy, growing, and there would be no complications
- for the 10-day outreaches, that the love of Jesus would be shared in all the places the students are going
All the best in Jesus,
Shaun & Megan

Baby Havelaar at 16 weeks (I'm 24 right now)

Shaun working hard, or hardly working? :)

Shaun carved 'Jude, love you' on our little pumpkin :)
Jude is the name we like so far.
