July/August Update

Hello Friends & Loved Ones...
Thanks so much for all your love and prayers for us this past summer. We've seen God work in mighty ways!

First of all, Shaun and I are really happy to announce that we are expecting a baby come the end of January! When we went for our 1st trimester ultra sound the technician could already tell that it's going to be a boy! We won't know for sure until September, but either way we are really excited and blessed to become parents.

Secondly, the A Vision For Life (AVFL) program just finished. We had ten teenagers come for the past six weeks to spend some time away to draw closer to Jesus. While they were here they: took Bible classes, went camping in Slovenia, took part in outreaches throughout Hungary and Austria, and were part of the conference ministry at the bible college. It was an amazing time. I've been encouraged in seeing them leave things behind, in order to step into what God has for them. They're not the "walking wounded", but the "healed free". It's all because of Jesus.

This verse came to mind often:

"
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." -Philippians 3:12-14

AVFLers dove right into what God had for them. During the first week, they took the initiative to come together as a team and learn the skit to the song, "Everything", by Lifehouse (if you have Facebook, here's the link:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/video/video.php?v=1358516763433&subj=1385311364) This particular video was taken in Spittal, Austria--at the Calvary Chapel where many youth from the city attended a bbq the church held. The group seemed to have no reservations about sharing with others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Bold.

When they left--I can say with confidence--that they were not the same people that arrived six weeks ago. I thought it would be beneficial for you to hear from them what God did in their lives. Here is what some of them said at the end of the program:

"My walk with the Lord was going fine before AVFL. I had a relationship with God and for the most part walking forward in it. AVFL challenged my faith and whom I place my trust in. It kept me from relying on past experiences and really having to rely on God's Holy Spirit. I came out of this program way more on fire for Jesus than I could imagine. I'd say it's not necessary, but it's really healthy to do as a believer. It will help you focus on Jesus. The Vision For Our Life!" -Will

"God really showed me what it's like to truly give Him complete control of a situation. He taught me to not hide everything inside but with discernment from Him I can open up to my fellow sisters. He also showed me His amazing power of bringing the family together and uniting us as one body like we should be united. Lastly, He showed me a vision for my life-to serve Him in everything I do and to learn even more about what it means to be a servant." -Beka

"
I never thought that AVFL would ever be something that could completely change me. I never thought I would get close to the leaders or the people here; but I was completely wrong. Everything here was incredible. The relationships I have built with everyone here and the change God has done in my life has been an incredible work. I recommend AVFL to an on-fire Christian, or someone barely making it. This program has been the most incredible blessing and I will cherish the memories I've had here" -Lauren

Currently, we are finishing the conference season and getting ready for the fall semester of bible college. Thanks again for all your prayers this summer, God did exceedingly abundantly above anything we could of asked for or thought He could do! (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Prayer Requests
